Judith C. Wilber, 73, of Shawano, was called home by her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Saturday, Dec. 19, 2015. She went home peacefully, surrounded by her family as they held her hands and sang her favorite hymn.
Judith was born on Oct. 6, 1942, in Oshkosh, the daughter of the late Philip A. Lyman Sr. and Adelyne E. (Krentz) Lyman. She lived all of her childhood in Oshkosh. She raised her family in Shawano. After that, she lived in Green Bay for many years. She came back to Shawano and lived there until her death.
She gave her heart and life to Jesus as a young girl, and He gave her a simple but strong faith that helped her weather many storms in life. Because of that, she was able to comfort and encourage many others. Her mission in life was to raise her children to know and love Jesus as she did. Wherever she was, that became her mission field. She touched many lives with her kindness and her willingness to share whatever God blessed her with.
Judith had a fondness for dolls since childhood and always had a collection to surround her wherever she lived. She also loved to go out to eat, but mostly because she enjoyed the time she was able to spend with family and friends. In August, she had been able to attend the wedding of her youngest daughter, which made some very precious memories. She also heard the news that her granddaughter was expecting her third great-grandchild.
She has left her family with a beautiful heritage of love and the Light of Christ. Her kindness, cute sense of humor and her prayers will be greatly missed.
Her parents preceded her in death.
She is survived by her sister and brother, Cynthia (Dan) Paulick and Philip A. Lyman Jr.; her four children, Annette (Dan) Raddant, Charlene Corey, Aaron (Ronda) Wilber and Suzanna (Brian) Wery; 13 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren (and one more on the way).
A service will be held on Jan. 9, 2016, at 11 a.m. at Hope Community Church. There will be a visitation from 9-11 a.m.
