Irvin Rudoph Kriewaldt, longtime Langlade resident, died Saturday, Jan. 2, 2016, at Rosalia Gardens in Antigo under the care of LeRoyer Hospice. He was 100 years old.
He was born on Nov. 4, 1915, in Shawano County, son of the late John and Eva (Geith) Kriewaldt. He married Esther Bohm on Dec. 12, 1936, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Bonduel. Esther preceded him in death on May 12, 2006.
Mr. Kriewaldt operated Kriewaldt cheese factory in Langlade, and he was well-known for the quality of his cheese. He later worked for American Milk Producers Inc. as a cheesemaker. He served as a member of the White Lake School Board for many years. He was a longtime and faithful member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church in White Lake.
Survivors include nieces, nephews and friends.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a sister, Ida Beltz, and two brothers, Arthur and Walter.
A funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 6, at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in White Lake, with the Rev. Nathan Kramer officiating. Interment will be in Langlade Cemetery following the service. Visitation will be from 9-11 a.m. Wednesday at the church.
