IRA sprint cars featured at Shawano Speedway

IRA Sprint cars joined the lineup at the Shawano Speedway on June 13.

In the 20-lap 410 springs-winged feature race, it was Jake Blackhurst of Hanna City, Illinois, taking the checkered flag. He beat out Will Armitage of Athens, Illinois, and Travis Arenz of Sheboygan Falls.

Paul Nienhiser of Chapin, Illinois, won the first dash, and Blackhurst won the second dash.

Scotty Thiel of Sheboygan won the first heat race, Armitage won the second heat, and Blackhurst won the third heat.

New London’s Tanner Jahnke started eighth and won the 20-lap IMCA modifieds feature race.

He beat out Shawano’s Jordan Bartz and Shawano’s Cody Hokenstad.

Antigo’s Dylon Waldvogel and Bartz won the heat races.

In the IMCA sport modifieds, it was Shawano’s AJ Springborn crossing the finish line first. He started fifth but beat out Cole Magnin of Oconto Falls and Forrest Kernen of Tigerton.

Winning the heat races were Bailey Tate of Clintonville and Magnin.

Clintonville’s Jeremie Hedrick won the 20-lap IMCA stock cars feature race after starting in seventh place. Manitowoc’s Brett Wenzel placed second, and Oconto Falls’ Kyle Frederick finished third.

Frederick won the first heat race, and Hedrick won the second heat.
