Wolf and Herzog each 45th at state

Bailey Wolf finished her high school cross-country career Saturday at her fourth state cross-country meet. The Oconto Falls senior finished in 45th place with a time of 20 minutes, 35 seconds in the WIAA Division 2 meet. She leaves the OFHS program as one of only four cross-country athletes who have qualified for state all four years. Wolf finished 35th as a freshman, 55th as a sophomore and 85th as a junior. Wolf also also holds the school record in 5,000 meters with a time of 19:35 and the sixth fastest time in 4,000 meters with a time of 15:21. “Her talents and leadership will be missed,” Panthers head coach Lon Ludemann said. Lauren Herzog, of Gillett, finished in 21:09, good for 45th place in the Division 3 portion of the state meet Saturday. Amherst’s Alissa Niggemann won the Division 3 race. Oshkosh Lourdes won the team title. Alicia Monson, of Amery, won the D2 race in 18:28, while Pewaukee came away with the Division 2 title.
