Wittenberg-Birnamwood 64, Mosinee 49
Rory Salvesen led the Chargers with 19 points, and Harper Rogowski and Melaina Granquist each dropped in another 15 to lead Wittenberg-Birnamwood to a 64-49 win over Mosinee.
“Tonight was about team. We played amazing team basketball tonight. Our defensive effort was awesome,” coach Nick Mechelke said. “Mosinee is a great basketball team, and they have a group of athletes. I’m a very proud coach tonight.”
The Chargers kept Mosinee at bay, leading 33-24 at halftime and also winning the second half 31-25. Included in Salvesen’s scoring were a trio of 3-pointers four free throws. Rogowski scored two 3-pointers and five free throws.
Granquist dominated at the boards, pulling down 18 rebounds, including seven on offense and 11 on defense.
Salvesen also led the team with two assists and three steals.
Menominee Nation 45, Iola-Scandinavia 43
The Eagles pulled out a two-point win, defeating Iola-Scandinavia 45-43. Menominee Nation edged their hosts by one point in each half, 22-21 and then 23-22.
Anisa Waupoose led Menominee Nation with 15 points, all 3-pointers. She was followed by Urijah Reevis with 14 and Aaliyah Corn with 10.
Gresham 49, Port Edwards 19
Port Edwards only scored eight points in the second half as Gresham comfortably won 49-19.
Gresham held a 20-point lead at halftime and extended it by another 10 points after the break.
