Tony Wied has announced he is officially running for Congress in Wisconsin’s 8th Congressional District, a seat vacated by Rep. Mike Gallagher after over seven years representing Northeast Wisconsin.
“Wisconsin’s 8th Congressional District is hungry for an America First outsider,” Wied said in a press release. “For too long, career politicians have failed to deliver the results we desperately need. I’m humbled by the outpouring of support from family and friends and the support and endorsement of President Donald J. Trump. I look forward to earning the trust of Wisconsin voters and taking the lessons I’ve learned from three decades of operating businesses in Northeast Wisconsin to Washington, D.C.”
Wied is an America First businessman and political outsider who was endorsed by Trump on April 7. He has spent three decades successfully starting, building, and operating businesses in Northeast Wisconsin. He owned and operated Dino Stop, a chain of gas stations and convenience stores, which he sold in 2022.
Wied is a lifelong Wisconsinite. He resides in De Pere with his wife of 23 years, Angela, four sons and dog Baker.
Wied is joining state Sen. Andre Jacque and former Sen. Roger Roth in a Republican primary in August. Kristin Lyerly, a Democrat, has also entered the Congressional race.
