HISTORY: The Chiefs and Packers are part of one of the most famous games in the history of the NFL.
After winning the NFL Championship Game in 1966, the Packers faced off against the AFL’s Chiefs in the first ever version of the Super Bowl.
Max McGee, famously not expecting to play, broke curfew and showed up to the game in less than ideal conditions.
He would go on to catch two touchdown passes after Boyd Dowler left the game with an injury, making for one of the most legendary stories in Super Bowl history.
The Chiefs and Packers have faced off since Patrick Mahomes was drafted by the Chiefs, but Sunday’s game will mark the first time both teams will have their preferred starting quarterbacks.

The most recent matchup was in 2021, which was Jordan Love’s first career start. The Packers lost 13-7.
