The girls A basketball team from St. Paul’s School in Bonduel finished in the runner-up spot at the Lutheran Schools Association of Wisconsin Tournament of Champions in early March.
The Comets won three games before losing in the championship game.
A send-off pep rally for the team was held March 1 at St. Paul’s before the girls headed to Concordia Wisconsin — Mequon for the 16-team tournament.
For St. Paul’s, tournament play opened with a game against another St. Paul school – St. Paul’s in Grafton. The Bonduel team won 22-19.
The battle of St. Paul schools continued in the next round as the Bonduel team defeated St. Paul of Oconomowoc 32-26.
In the semifinal game, St. Paul’s defeated Good Shepherd of West Bend 37-32.
Star of Bethlehem in New Berlin won the state title game, defeating St. Paul’s 33-24.
John Jacobs is the head coach, and JC Reinke is the assistant coach. Players are Ava Hughes, Madelyn Schroeder, Emery Thompson, Lexie Rank, Casey Wesenberg, Chloe Zernicke, Jorja Reinke and Audrey Jacobs.
