A Pulaski man was taken to a Green Bay hospital with injuries there were not life-threatening Thursday after his pickup truck was hit by a dump truck in Maple Grove, according to the Shawano County Sheriff’s Department.
According to investigators, Brian Van Asten, 54, was driving the pickup westbound on state Highway 156 when he attempted to turn left into a residential driveway and crossed into the path of an eastbound dump truck being operated by Kenneth Bukowksi, 59, of Gillett.
The dump truck hit the passenger side of the pickup, causing both vehicles to go into the ditch.
The accident occurred about 4 p.m. approximately half a mile west of state Highway 29
Van Asten, who was extricated from the vehicle, and Bukowksi were both transported to a Green Bay area hospital.
Bukowski was treated and released. Van Asten remained hospitalized, but his injuries were not believed to be life-threatening, according to the sheriff’s department.
