Phyllis M. Laska

Phyllis M. Laska, 87, of Suring, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 18, 2022, with family by her side. Phyllis was born April 30, 1935, to the late Gordon and Barbara (Buchberger) Langhoff. On Oct. 27, 1956, Phyllis married Norbert Laska. Phyllis was a dutiful housewife and mother. She could make good wine and loved crafting. Phyllis was a comedian, known for making her family laugh with her many stories. She adored her many trips to the casino with her daughter, Mary, to play bingo. Phyllis loved to read and do puzzles. She also spent many years deer hunting but never shot a deer, resulting in many of her most hilarious stories. Phyllis is survived by her daughters, Rose, Carol, Mary (Joe) and Kay (Rusty); sons, David (Karen), Charles and John; 13 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; two sisters, Ramona and Teddy; brother, Butch (Sandy); three brothers-in-law, Jerry (Kate), Michael and Ray; three sisters-in-law, Loraine, Betty and Marie. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Norbert; son, Alvin; four siblings, Douglas, Junior, James and Agnes; siblings-in-law, Deloris, Bernice, Margie, Hank, Eugene, Robert, Caroline, Theresa and Joanne. Visitation will be held on Thursday, Dec. 29, 2022, at Gruetzmacher Funeral Home in Suring from 9-10:45 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held following the visitation at 11 a.m. at St. Michael Catholic Church in Suring with Father Francis Dias officiating. Phyllis will be entombed with Norbert at Forest Home Cemetery in Milwaukee. Gruetzmacher Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
