Oconto Falls opened its 2024 season with a 3-1 non-conference win on the road against Two Rivers.
Bonduel 25, Menominee Indian 3
Three runs by the Eagles in the top of the first inning didn’t hold up against a second-inning barrage from Bonduel.
The Bears had 24 runs cross the plate in that inning as they defeated Menominee Indian 25-3 in the Central Wisconsin East Conference opener for both teams.
Bonduel pounded out 19 hits, compared to five for the Eagles.
Getting multiple hits for the Bears were Tatum Sporisky 2-for-2, Taylor Rank 2-for-3, Joselyn Bohm 3-for-4, Lila Pleshek 2-for-4, Carli Anderson 2-for-2, Hailee Thompson 2-for-2, Hailey Zernicke 4-for-4, Allison Zernicke 2-for-2.
Hailey Zernicke had a pair of home runs, while Allison Zernicke, Hailey Zernicke and Thompson each hit doubles.
Hailey Zernicke had 10 RBIs, Thompson had three, Anderson and Rank each had two, and Allison Zernicke, Pleshek, Bohm and Sporisky each had one.
Sporisky also stole two bases. She was also the winning pitcher, allowing three five hits and three runs in her three innings, while striking out four.
