Northern zone smallmouth bass season open

The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) reminds anglers that the smallmouth bass harvest season is underway in the northern zone. While the catch and release season for smallmouth bass is open year-round, this harvest season runs through March 2, 2025, giving anglers a chance to keep smallmouth bass in these additional waters: • The northern bass management zone. All waters north of a line following state Highway 77, from its bridge over the St. Croix river east to state Highway 27, south on state Highway 27 to state Highway 64, east on state Highway 64 to its terminus in the city of Marinette and continuing due east to the shore of Green Bay and all waters north of state Highway 29 from its bridge over the Fox River east to its terminus is the city of Kewaunee and continuing due east to the shore of Lake Michigan. • Wisconsin-Michigan boundary waters. • Tributaries to Lake Michigan north of state Highway 29 in Door and Kewaunee counties. • Lake Superior, including the Kakagon River and Slough.
