Bonduel falls to Shiocton
Bonduel lost to Shiocton 3-2 in the first round of the New London tournament Thursday.
Bonduel took a short-lived 1-0 lead in the fourth, but Shiocton tied the game on a balk by Bonduel pitcher Connor Rosin in the bottom of the inning.
Shiocton (5-3) took a 3-1 lead in the fifth inning.
Rosin allowed three runs on four hits and stuck out eight in seven innings of work for Bonduel (6-4).
Hunter Vanderlinden had two of Bonduel’s six hits, including a triple.
Bonduel will play its second game of the tournament Saturday.
Shawano loses to Bay Port
A big day by Kyle Wirkus wasn’t enough for the Shawano American Legion baseball team Thursday against Bay Port.
Shawano lost the game 16-5 in five innings.
Wirkus led Shawano (2-9) offensively, going three for three with a double and an RBI. Chase Henning had a hit and an RBI.
Tommy Stueck took the loss.
Gary Vorley earned the win for Bay Port (3-3).
