Robert Kummerer

Robert “Bob” Kummerer, 83, of Tigerton, passed away Sunday, Oct. 6, 2013, at the Homme Home of Wittenberg. Robert Albert Kummerer was born on April 3, 1930, in Tiffin, Ohio, to Frank and Mary (McGlaughlin) Kummerer. Following high school, he entered the U.S. Air Force and served for 22½ years, until retiring in 1970. He was united in marriage in July 1955 to Kathryn L. Martin in Danville, Ill. After the military, Bob completed technical college and began working at Glover Manufacturing in Wittenberg. He was employed there as a machinist for close to 21 years and retired in 1992. Bob is a former member of the VFW Post and was a proud member of the American Legion Post 239 of Tigerton. Survivors include three children, Laurie Clegg, of McKinney, Texas, Anthony “Andy” (Trish) Kummerer, of La Plata, Md., and Pat (Linda) Kummerer, of Angier, N.C. There is one granddaughter, Teri Kummerer, and many other relatives and friends. Bob was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Kathryn; an infant son, Robert; two sisters, Eileen and Mary; and six brothers, Anthony “Andy,” Paul, John, Jim, Glenn and George. Inurnment will be at Union Cemetery, Tigerton, at a later date to be determined. The Beil-Didier Funeral Home, Tigerton, is assisting the family.
