Shirley Mae Buckley Villeneuve, 81, former resident of Devon Court, widow of Romeald Charles “Bud” Villeneuve, died Friday, June 20, 2014, at Emeritus at Hawthorne Inn in Greenville, South Carolina. Born in Chicago on Dec. 23, 1932, she was a daughter of the late Chester W. and Stella Sims Buckley.
Mrs. Villeneuve was a homemaker who loved her family and will be remembered as a gifted seamstress that would often make clothes for her family. She will also be remembered for baking homemade cookies for family and friends. A native of Chicago, Mrs. Villeneuve also resided in Lansing, Illinois, Shawano, Newport Richey, Florida, Greenwood, South Carolina, and Greenville, South Carolina. She attended North Side Baptist Church in Greenwood.
Surviving are a daughter, Gail Behrendt, and husband, Wayne, of Greenwood; a son, Mark Villeneuve, and wife, Becky, of Park Ridge, Illinois; two grandsons, Kyle Behrendt and wife, Lauren, of Greenville, and Davis Behrendt, of Charleston, South Carolina; one granddaughter, Rachel Villeneuve, of Park Ridge, Illinois; two brothers, Dr. Chet Buckley and wife, Joyce, of St. Cloud, Minnesota, and Jim Buckley and wife, Carole, of Moreno Valley, California; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Mary Ellen and Tony Caputo, of West Chicago, Illinois; and a cousin who was raised as a sister to Bud Villeneuve, Linda Zack, of Arlington Heights, Illinois.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, June 28, 2014, at the Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano. Burial will be in the Lake Drive Cemetery in the town of Wescott. Visitation will be held at the funeral home in Shawano on Saturday from 1 p.m. until the time of the service.

The family would like to thank the caregivers at Emeritus at Hawthorne Inn and Rasheda Coleman of Greenwood for their care and compassion during Mrs. Villeneuve’s illness.
