Roland R. Bloedorn

Roland Robert “Rollie” Bloedorn, 88, of Cecil, passed away on Monday, May 25, 2015, in Shawano. Rollie was born on Aug. 9, 1926, in Chilton, the son of the late Robert and Esther (Bartelt) Bloedorn. He was inducted into the Army in 1950 and served during the Korean conflict. On Dec. 26, 1970, Rollie was married to Ida (Hoppe) Wudtke in Shawano. She preceded him in death in 2013. He worked at Asplundh Tree Service for 40 years until his retirement, was a member of St. John United Church of Christ in Cecil, the VFW and a lifelong member of the American Legion, and enjoyed gardening. Rollie is survived by his stepchildren, Delano “Pat” (Marilyn) Wudtke, Nancy (Jim) Mitchell, Gary “Butch” (Barb) Wudtke, all of Bonduel, stepdaughter-in-law, Eva Wudtke, of Cecil, and nine stepgrandchildren. He is further survived by several great-stepgrandchildren, great-great-stepgrandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one stepson, Donald Wudtke; a stepdaughter in infancy, Shirley Wudtke; and four brothers and two sisters. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 30, 2015, at St. John United Church of Christ in Cecil with the Rev. Moira Finley officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with military rites conducted by Shawano AMVETS Post 10. Visitation will be at the church on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service. A memorial fund has been established. Swedberg-Wendt Funeral Home in Bonduel is assisting the family with the arrangements.
