Roger H. McPherson

Roger H. “Fido” McPherson, 61, of Neopit, passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 16, 2015. Roger was born in Keshena on Feb. 1, 1954, the son of the late Alfred and Mildred (Dickie) McPherson. He worked as a truck driver for Schneider Trucking, Fox Midwest Trucking and then dedicated himself to Menominee Tribal Enterprises for the last 24 years. Roger served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. On May 18, 1985, Roger was united in marriage to Debra Peters Nacotee in Keshena. He was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church, served on the parish council and was very involved with Menominee Tribal Enterprises. He served on the Menominee Tribal board of directors for three terms. He enjoyed playing bingo, rummaging, recycling with Little Rog, Packers games, and gab, gab, gab, gabbing. Roger is survived by his wife of 30 years, Debra; his children, Arnold, Destiney, Kenew-Saeh, Ma-Sah-Quit, Darrin and Autumn; seven grandchildren, including the newest Baby Roger; and his brothers and sisters, Reynold, Karen, Donna, Milton, Yvonne, Naomi, Lester and Carol Mae. Roger was preceded by his son, Roger Jr., his parents, and one brother, Carl. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 21, 2015, at St. Anthony Catholic Church with the Rev. Joel Jorges officiating. Burial will be in St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery with military rites conducted by the Veterans of the Menominee Nation. Visitation will be at the Neopit Community Center from Friday, Sept. 18, 2015, until the time of the services on Monday.
