Vernel Lee “Vern” High, 70, of Keshena, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 4, 2015, in Appleton.
Vern was born in Keshena, on June 4, 1945, to the late Alice Peters. He was a contractor in home building, and loved his job. Vern enjoyed nothing better than a good day of hard work.
Vern is survived by his good friend, Betty Kohel; his children, Vernal High, Vaughn High, Kurt Pocan and Veron High; Betty’s children, whom he helped raise, Denelle, Lillian, Ira, John and Sky; numerous grandchildren, and nieces, and nephews, including, Leland, Rudy, Doreen and Tabitha.
He was preceded in death by his mom; one sister, Mabel “Peaches” Dickie; and four brothers, John “Biskit” Peters, Tommy Peters, Joseph “Duke” Peters and Alvin Peters.
A visitation will be held at Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano on Wednesday, Oct. 7, 2015, from 12-3 p.m.
