Patricia L. “Patti” Genke, 57, of Shawano, went to meet her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday evening, Nov. 29, 2015, at Theda Clark Regional Medical Center in Neenah following a sudden illness.
Patti was born on Sept. 16, 1958, in Milwaukee, a daughter of the late Charles and Jean (Pepin) Pegg. She attended Milwaukee schools, graduating from Milwaukee Pulaski High School. On June 7, 2001, she was united in marriage to Roger Genke. The couple lived in Shawano following their marriage.
Patti had been employed at Oak Haven Assisted Living in Shawano. She was a member of Resurrection Lutheran Church of Shawano. She enjoyed cooking and baking, using her secret ingredient, LOVE. She always had a smile on her face, and enjoyed helping others.
Survivors include her husband, Roger Genke; six children, Shannon (David) Stout- Morales, of Milwaukee, Randa (Josh) Genke-Ruleford, of Appleton, and Chanden, Kyla, Taylor and Dylan Genke, all of Shawano; four grandchildren, McKenzey, Aliya, Raelyn and Brynlee; two brothers and one sister; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Patti will be held on Friday, Dec. 4, 2015, at 11 a.m. at Mickelson Funeral & Cremation Service of Shawano. Pastor Travis Kleinschmidt will officiate. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday, Dec. 3, 2015, from 4-7 p.m., and again on Friday from 10-11 a.m.
In lieu of flowers and plants, the family prefers memorials in Patti’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
