Marion woman dies in Christmas Eve crash

A Marion woman was reported dead at the scene of a Christmas Eve crash in the town of Seneca Thursday. According to the Shawano County Sheriff’s Department, a 33-year-old male from De Pere was driving eastbound on state Highway 29 just before 6 p.m. and struck a car driven by a 66-year-old male driver from Marion, who was trying to cross the highway at County Road D. The Marion man’s 64-year-old passenger, identified as his wife, died at the scene, according to the Sheriff’s Office. The two drivers were being treated for injuries sustained in the crash. No names were released. The Wisconsin State Patrol, Shawano Ambulance Service, Tigerton Ambulance Service, Tigerton Rescue and the Bowler Fire Department assisted on scene.
