Henrietta Maybelle (Goldacker) Anderson, 90, of Embarrass, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2015, at the Pine Manor Health Care Center in Embarrass.
Henrietta was born on Dec. 24, 1925, in Toledo, Ohio, as the daughter of the late Max and Maybelle (Spencer) Goldacker and married Richard A. Anderson Sr. in Wittenberg on March 29, 1946. The couple had six children and lived in Wittenberg, Shawano, Marshfield, the Angelus Retirement Community, Clintonville, and most recently Pine Manor Nursing Home in Embarrass.
Henrietta was in nurse’s training in Toledo prior to marrying Richard. She enjoyed gardening, canning, cooking, baking, sewing, knitting, reading, bird watching and, most of all, being with her family. Henrietta had an unwavering faith in God. She and Richard were founding members of Zion Lutheran Church in Shawano. Henrietta loved her husband and family with all her heart and spent as much time with them as possible. She will be greatly missed.
Henrietta is survived by her loving husband, Richard A. Anderson Sr., Shawano; daughters, Linda Petersen (Jim), Egg Harbor, and Susan Anderson (Steve), Oshkosh; sons, Richard A. Anderson Jr. (Rachel), Stratford, Jeff Anderson (Rhonda), Richfield, Minnesota, John Anderson (Jan), Marshfield, and Philip Anderson (Meribeth), Gresham; nine grandchildren, Sara Guyette (Tim), Jaime Petersen (Megan), Ryan Anderson (Kristy), Derek Anderson (Brenda), Lindsay Anderson, Skylar Smerling, Heidi Anderson, Larryn Smerling and Melissa Anderson; four great-grandchildren, Owen Guyette, Kate Anderson, Ellie Anderson and Paloma Anderson; sister-in-law, Caroline Goldacker, Portage, Michigan; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Henrietta was preceded in death by her parents, Max and Maybelle; sisters, Elsa and Betty; and brothers, Max and Robert.
The family would like to thank everyone at Pine Manor and ThedaCare at Home Hospice who helped make Henrietta’s last year as comfortable as possible.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Jan. 2, 2016, at 11 a.m. at the Zion Lutheran Church, 1254 S. Union St., Shawano, with the Rev. Scott Ludford officiating. Friends may call at the church on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
