Dec. 17, 1942–June 12, 2013
Barbara Jean (Robbins) Schoemann passed away Wednesday morning, June 12, 2013, at Community Memorial Hospital, of Oconto Falls, after a short illness.
Barb was born in Duluth, Minn., on Dec. 17, 1942, to Betty M. (DeBoer) and Don C. Robbins, who preceded her in death.
She married David E. Schoemann on Sept. 9, 1989, who also preceded her in death.
She leaves to mourn her passing sisters and brothers, Marcia L. (Jim) Oliver, of Bossier City, La., Don P. (Hope) Robbins, of North Las Vegas, Nev., Debora L. (Patrick, deceased) Duchac, Cassopolis, Mich., MaryAnn K. (Mike) Imhoff, Racine, Wis., Kerry D. (Patty) Lillo, Racine, Wis., stepfather, Renaldo C. (Arlene) Lillo, of Bonduel, Wis., and brother-in-law, Gerald E. (Jeri) Schoemann, Racine, Wis. Many nieces and nephews also survive, as well as her friends and neighbors.
Barb and David, her late husband, were volunteer paramedic/EMTs in the Cedarburg and Grafton area of Wisconsin, prior to moving to their quiet rural home. Barb also enjoyed photography and often took pictures of the wildlife she observed while delivering on her newspaper route.
She also loved watching the birds at her feeders and could name them all!
She was an avid reader, loved her pets and fishing.
One season she broke the record in Port Washington by landing the largest Chinook salmon from off the pier, 25.5 pounds and 36 inches long! This event put her on the cover of the Port Washington magazine (this is that picture)!
Barb will be remembered for always having a smile on her face and always being ready to help anyone who needed a hand. She was known to rescue animals in need, offering them a place and loving care.
We will miss her greatly. No formal service will take place, as she has been cremated, but on July 12, at 7:10 a.m. during the morning hours one month since her passing, please spend a moment in thought about Barb and your memories of her.
