Stephen P. Micoley, 89, Spruce, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on Sunday, July 7, 2013. He was born Aug. 26, 1923, at the family homestead in Spruce.
On Aug. 14, 1954, Stephen married Shirley Suelflow. Together they owned and operated the Micoley family dairy farm in Spruce. He also tended bar at the Holiday Inn and Round Roof at Kelly Lake for almost 40 years.
He loved deer hunting, trout fishing, bowling and playing cards with the weekly group.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Shirley, two children, Kim (Anthony) McGinitty, Oconto Falls, Mark (Kathy) Micoley, Spruce; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Dee Lenz, Milwaukee; nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Gertrude Jisa and Dorothy Kanack, and two brothers, Albert and Bernard “Butch.”
Friends may call from 9-11 a.m. Wednesday, July 10, at St. Anne’s Catholic Church, Lena. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 10, at the church with the Rev. Polycarp Ssebbowa officiating. Interment to follow at Pine Hill Cemetery, Spruce.
