Lisa Mae Cortez

Lisa Mae Cortez, 35, Milwaukee, formerly of Oconto Falls, died suddenly Saturday afternoon, July 13, 2013, at a Milwaukee hospital. She was born July 17, 1977, in Alamo, Texas, to Antonio Cortez Jr. and Mary Meyer. Lisa moved with her mother back to Oconto Falls in 1982 where she attended public schools, graduating from high school with the Class of 1995. Lisa has been living in Milwaukee the past 10 years with her three sons, whom she dearly loved and was devoted to. Survivors are her mother, Mary Meyer, Oconto Falls; her father, Antonio Cortez Jr., Texas; her three sons, Jacob, Justin and Joseph Cortez; her fiancé, Eric; one brother, John “Bubba” Meunier, all at home; maternal grandparents, Bob (Mary Jane) Meyer, Darlene Merschdorf, all of Oconto Falls; many special friends including Debbie Mikula, Katie Garfield and Bev Sparks; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Antonio Sr. and Alicia Cortez. Visitation will be held after 3 p.m. Thursday, July 18, at Jones Funeral Service in Oconto Falls until the time of service. Prayer services will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Cremation will follow. Lisa was an organ donor and as such, four other people have been given the gift of life.
