At 3:57 a.m. Sept. 22, a car driven by a Wabeno woman was traveling south on North Road in the town of Lakewood. The vehicle failed to negotiate a curve, entered a ditch and rolled onto its roof, striking several trees. The driver was injured and transported to a medical facility. Three female passengers in the vehicle were not injured. At 2:15 a.m. Oct. 1, a vehicle driven by an unidentified driver from Peshtigo was traveling east on state Highway 22 in the town of Oconto, crossed the center line, entered a ditch, struck an embankment and overturned in a ditch. Severe damage was reported to the vehicle. At 5:45 a.m. Oct. 1, a Lakewood man was cited for failure to report an accident after the car he was driving was involved in an accident on Lake John Road in the town of Lakewood. The report indicates the accident was reported by a motorist, and when an officer arrived, a tow truck was removing the damaged vehicle from the scene. The Lakewood man said he entered the ditch after swerving to avoid a deer that ran onto the roadway. At 7:14 p.m. Oct. 6, an Appleton man was eastbound on Main Street in Suring and struck the rear of a vehicle driven by a man from Little Suamico, then left the scene. At 7:15 p.m. the same Appleton man was involved in another accident on state Highway 32 in the town of Maple Valley involving a pickup truck operated by a man from Kaukauna. Again the Appleton man fled the scene. He was located later and ticketed for driving while intoxicated and hit-and-run. At 2:39 a.m. Oct. 6, a man from Pound was driving a car on Sunny Brook Road in the town of Lena. His vehicle went out of control, spun around, entered a ditch and overturned. He was cited for driving at an unreasonable speed. Severe damage was reported to the vehicle. At 7:40 p.m. Oct. 7, a Lena man was driving a car on County Road S north of Frog Pond Road in the town of Oconto, hit gravel on the side of the road, lost control and entered a ditch. His vehicle struck a guide wire on a power pole, causing the pole to loosen. The vehicle received minor damage, and no injuries were reported. At 4:28 p.m. Oct. 7, a Suring man was driving a car north on County Road A&G in the town of Maple Valley when it struck loose gravel, spun around and entered a ditch, striking several trees. The driver fled the scene on foot after telling a witness he shouldn’t report the accident. Citations were issued for operating left of center and failure to notify authorities of the accident. Severe damage was reported to the vehicle.
