Gillett grads receive Egan scholarship

Egan Family Foundation has awarded Charles N. Egan Scholarships to Thomas Carlson and Lisa Schmidt, of Gillett. Little Rapids Corporation established the Egan Foundation in 1986 in memory of Charles N. Egan, the company’s founder, to act as the primary vehicle for charitable giving in the communities in which Little Rapids operates. The Charles N. Egan Scholarship was established for children of associates of Little Rapids Corporation who enroll in a full-time course of study at an accredited four-year college or university or leading to an associate degree at an accredited two-year college or technical school. Schmidt is the daughter of JoAnn Schneider and Steve Schmidt. She graduated from Gillett High School and will attend St. Norbert College in De Pere to major in biology/pre-med. Carlson is the son of Randy and Teri Carlson. He graduated from Gillett High School and attends the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he majors in chemical engineering. Little Rapids Corporation develops, manufactures and markets products that promote safety and sanitation within medical and beauty settings and specialty papers for a variety of applications. They have two facilities in Green Bay and one in Shawano.
