Stressing the importance of offering nutritious meals to children during the summer months, the Suring Public School District announces the sponsorship of its summer food service program.
Funded by the U.S. Department of Agriculture and administered by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction, the program provides nutritious meals to children during the summer, when free and reduced-price school meals are typically unavailable.
Free meals will be made available to children 18 and younger. People over 18 may receive free meals if they are mentally or physically disabled and participate in a school program during the regular school year
The Suring School cafeteria will serve breakfast from 7:45-8:15 a.m. and lunch from 12:15-12:45 p.m. Meals are provided to eligible children regardless of race, color, national origin, age, gender or disability.
“This program fills a void created when school lunches are not available,” said Kelly Casper, superintendent. “Helping parents meet the nutritional needs of their children is the strength of this program.”
