Ethelyn “Eddy” (Knaus) Parafiniuk, 86, Green Bay, formerly of Oconto Falls, died Sunday evening, July 26, 2015, at home. She was born Sept. 30, 1928, in Randolph, Minnesota, to Fred and Etta (Bentley) Knaus.
When she was 2 years old, she moved with her family to Green Bay where she attended public schools, graduating from Green Bay West High School with the Class of 1947.
Eddy lived in Green Bay before moving to the Oconto Falls area in 1969 with her three small children and was employed as a CNA in the local hospital for 22 years.
She attended St. Anthony Catholic Church in Oconto Falls. Eddy was an avid reader, huge Wisconsin sports fan and follower of the Packers, Badgers and Brewers and enjoyed attending her grandchildren’s sporting events. She enjoyed being with her family, many friends, taking walks, exercising and visiting shut-ins in the local nursing home.
Eddy moved back to Green Bay just one year ago.
Survivors are her five children, Cheryl De Noble, Milwaukee; William (Debbie) De Noble, Green Bay; Helen (John) Brossart, Granby, Colorado; Joyce (fiancé Wayne) Yuma, Gillett; Amy (Earl) Habeck, Little Suamico; one daughter-in-law, Joanne Yuma, Suring; 10 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; one brother, Allen (Shirley) Knaus, Green Bay; four sisters, Gertrude Wright, Pensacola, Florida; Kay (Henry) Cramer, Pickerel; Leone Rogers, Pensacola, Florida; Beverly (Lee) Nelson, Green Bay; many special friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Eugene Yuma; six brothers, Dale, Connie, Lloyd, Austin, Fred “Rusty” and Merle Knaus; and one sister, Loretta Pierquet.
A celebration of life luncheon will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 30, at The Rite Place, 1580 Bellevue St., Green Bay. Jones Funeral Service in Oconto Falls is serving the Parafiniuk family.
