Joyce M. Sukowski, 77, Pound, died early Monday morning, Sept. 28, 2015, at Sharpe Care in Oconto Falls. The only child of Anthony and Clemeth (Umentum) Schuessler was born July 18, 1938, in Oconto Falls.
At the age of 4 years old, Joyce moved with her parents to Milwaukee, where she attended Catholic grade and high schools, graduating from St. John’s Cathedral High School with the Class of 1956. On Oct. 26, 1957, she married Robert Sukowski at St. Pius Catholic Church in Wauwatosa. The couple lived in Milwaukee before moving to Grafton, where Joyce was employed by KMC Stamping Co. for 25 years until retiring. The couple moved in 2002 to Oconto County, where Joyce was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church in Suring.
Survivors are her four children, Kevin, Keith, Beth and Susan Sukowski; five grandchildren, David (Erin) Schmidt, Robert Schmidt, Sasha Lane, Angela and Sarah Burmesch; three great-grandchildren, Abigail, Benjamin and Jason.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Robert.
Visitation will be held at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Suring after 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 2, until the time of service. Funeral services will take place at 3 p.m. Friday at the church with Sister Marla Clercx presiding. Cremation will follow.
