To the editor:
River of many fishes is the meaning of the name,
once you have seen it, you’ll never be the same.
Watch the sunrise over the bay that’s called Green,
then when one speaks of beauty, you’ll know what they mean.
In 1969 Oconto was 300 years old,
the bondage and friendship have never gone cold.
Explore the town and see the beautiful homes from the old lumber days,
then you’ll know why the people want to stay.
The county seat as it is known,
one of the reasons the city has grown.
The walleye fishing capital of the USA,
come over sometime and you’ll want to stay.
Shop all the stores and places to eat,
there’s sure to be a place you’ll want to meet.
Watch the magnificent sunset over old Copper Culture Park, thousands of years of history,
one reason why they say
the city of Oconto is “History on the Bay.”
