FOOTBALL Crivitz offense too strong for Tigers Alex Zeitler found Leeland Kahler for a 15-yard score to open the game, but that was all Gillett would be able to put on the board in a 30-6 homecoming loss Friday to Crivitz. Tyler Slaby led the rushing attack for Crivitz (3-4, 2-3 Marinette & Oconto Conference), posting 151 yards and a touchdown. Zeitler finished the game 12-for-18 passing and 145 yards. Kahler tallied 64 receiving yards on the night to lead Gillett (5-2, 3-2 M&O Conference). GIRLS VOLLEYBALL Panthers defeat Truckers in 3 Emily Kilmer tallied 16 kills and 16 digs as Oconto Falls defeated host Clintonville, 25-18, 25-21, 25-18, Sept. 29. Setter Mikaela Thomson recorded 39 assists and three aces for Oconto Falls. Alyssa Nelson had seven kills, 11 digs and three aces as well for the Panthers (15-12, 3-2 North Eastern Conference). Panthers sweep Freedom Emily Kilmer again had a strong showing, this time recorded 23 digs, two aces and 18 digs as Oconto Falls defeated Freedom, 25-16, 25-22, 25-18, Thursday night in North Eastern Conference play. Carolyn Malcheski recorded 14 digs as well for Oconto Falls (16-12, 4-2 NEC). Setter Mikaela Thomson had 36 assists and three aces. Gillett falls in straight sets Victoria Loberger’s six kills were not enough Sept. 29 as Gillett fell, 25-19, 25-13, 25-17, to Peshtigo. Jessica Anderson racked up 11 assists, while Willow Pecha and Anderson each had three service aces. Myranda Pratsch added seven digs for Gillett (3-4 Marinette & Oconto Conference) in the loss. Gillett wins in 5 sets over Lena Maya Breed tallied 12 kills and Faith Sorlie added nine more as Gillett defeated Lena in five sets Thursday night, 23-25, 22-25, 25-15, 25-20, 15-4. Jessica Anderson had 17 assists, and Myranda Pratsch recorded eight digs to lead Gillett. Pratsch also finished with a team-high seven aces. Sarah Manning had five kills to lead Lena. Hailey Salter added four aces. Lena drops match to Suring Kenda Slempkes had six assists and Carley Conrad had Lena’s lone dig of the night during a 25-17, 25-14, 25-22 loss to Suring (6-1 Marinette & Oconto Conference) on Sept. 29. Brooke Peterson recorded three service aces and four kills to lead Lena (0-7 M&O). Suring sweeps Wausaukee Hailey Thomson had eight kills and Azee VanBellinger tallied six more as Suring defeated Wausaukee in straight sets, 25-14, 25-19, 25-15, Thursday night. VanBellinger also recorded 15 digs to lead the team. Courtney Heimerl led the Eagles with 14 assists.
