Zeitler wins, 6 others in top 3 at Kewaunee

Gillett senior Alex Zeitler earned the Outstanding Wrestler award at Saturday’s Kewaunee Invitational as the Gillett/Suring wrestling team finished in second place. Eight wrestlers took third place or better on the day, led by Zeitler’s first-place finish in his 160-pound weight class with a pin over Manitowoc Lutheran/Roncalli’s Ben Kiel in 5 minutes, 9 seconds. Behind Zeitler, the Tigers still placed well, with Preston Fischer adding a second-place finish, while Sam Lemens, Garrett Kohls, Mitch Umentum, Brett Milhans and Tanner Rehn all took third place in the meet. The Tigers took second place with 179 points, just 11.5 points behind the winner, Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah.
