Norbert R. Tiegs

Norbert R. Tiegs, 96, Lena, passed away Thursday, April 3, 2025 at his home. Norbert was born Jan. 5, 1929, in Lena to the late Raymond and Ora (Degeneffe) Tiegs. Norbert grew up at Cream City and Five Corners and graduated from Lena High School. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1948-54 and was stationed in Korea. He married Lorraine Bourassa in 1955 and lived in his Town of Stiles residence until present. Norbert enjoyed family get-togethers and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He also enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He worked at Proctor & Gamble for 35 years. Norbert often talked about his good neighbors, and his family is thankful for them. He also enjoyed visits with friends at The Windmill Tavern. Norbert is survived by three daughters, Marilyn (Paul) Zeitler-Wittlinger, Pamela (Doug) Upton, Laura (Gary) Schenkoski; three sons, Jerome (Cheryl) Tiegs, James (Sally) Tiegs, John (Laurie) Tiegs; sister, Violet (Jim Bourassa) Reed; brothers, Donald (Heather) Tiegs, Gerald (Donna) Tiegs; sister-in-law, Shirley Tiegs; 14 grandchildren, Clarisse, Jennifer, Luke, Kate, Zach, Monica, Chance, Jason, Jill, Danielle, Peter, Elijah, Timothy, Adam; 16 great-grandchildren, Sandrea, Katherine, Christian, Erika, Hunter, Hutson, Zoey, Everett, Marissa, Kelvin, Garrett, Caleb, Ava, Oliver, Bree and Clark. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lorraine; parents, Raymond and Ora Tiegs; step-parents, Charles “Choppie” and Naomi Pecor; sister, LaVerne (Phillip) Zipple; brothers, Ralph, Wesley and Ivan; sister-in-law, Yvonne Tiegs; and great-grandchild, September Deneys. The family will receive relatives and friends at the Gallagher Funeral Home, Oconto, from 4-8 p.m. Friday, April 25, 2025. Visitation will continue Saturday, April 26, from 10-11 a.m. Memorial services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home by Deacon Dave Westenberg.
