Yvonne Kirchenwitz, 88, went to her heavenly home on Thursday, July 18, 2024.
Yvonne was born in the Town of Morgan, Oconto County, on Sept. 4, 1935, daughter of the late Lebrecht and Grace (Pellow) Olderman. Yvonne grew up in the Gillett area and graduated from Gillett High School with the class of 1953.
On Aug. 2, 1955, she was united in marriage to Harvey Kirchenwitz in Oconto. Harvey and Yvonne lived out their years together on a farm east of Zachow, where they worked hard together to provide for their family. Yvonne took pride in her role as a homemaker for her husband and six children. She loved her role as a grandmother and never missed an opportunity to attend the grandkids’ various events and activities.
Yvonne was a faithful member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Zachow and in her free time enjoyed working puzzles, collecting castle figures, doing diamond art crafts and crossword puzzles as well as reading, gardening, and above all, spending time with her family.
She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She will be deeply missed and always remembered.
Yvonne is survived by her children, Kim (Londa) Kirchenwitz, Gale (Ed) Blum, Jody (Bernie) Pryes, Kevin (Chris) Kirchenwitz, Cheryl (Bruce) Breitenfeldt and Jed (Elizabeth) Kirchenwitz; 17 grandchildren; and 30 great-grandchildren. She is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Harvey; a great-granddaughter, Laurel; her parents; two sisters, Margaret and Joyce; and two brothers, Leland and Walter.
A funeral service to honor Yvonne will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, July 24, 2024, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Zachow with Rev. Kurt Kluge and Rev. Alex Kirchenwitz officiating.
Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church on Wednesday from 11 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorials may be directed to St. Paul Lutheran Church in Zachow.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Emerald Bay, Hobart and Heartland Hospice for their most loving and attentive care provided to Yvonne. They were truly a blessing.
Yvonne M. Kirchenwitz
