A 50-year-old Pulaski area man died from a motorcycle crash June 26, according to statement from the Shawano County Sheriff’s Department.
Lt. Chris Madle said that at about 8:15 p.m., the dispatch center received a 911 call from a person who found a motorcycle in a ditch and an unresponsive man in the field in the area of County Road E and Lodge Road in the Town of Washington.
Deputies and EMS responded as well.
Upon arrival, CPR was in progress, but due to his injuries, the driver was pronounced dead on the scene.
The crash victim was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash and was the only occupant of the motorcycle, Madle said.
The initial investigation showed the motorcycle to be traveling westbound on County Road E, approaching the curve at Lodge Road. The driver apparently did not slow down in time for the curve and entered the ditch where he lost control and flipped numerous times, according to Madle.
The crash is still under investigation, but it is believed alcohol was a factor in this crash. At this time, neither the name of the deceased nor any other information about the crash is being released.
The sheriff’s department was assisted by Shawano Ambulance, Bonduel EMS, Cecil-Washington Fire Department and the Shawano County Coroner’s Office.
