Students from Oconto Falls High School’s music and theater departments are putting on the finishing touches of their upcoming production of “The Addams Family.”
Based on the fictional family created by American cartoonist Charles Addams, this musical brings a plot twist to this ghoulish family with an affinity for all things macabre. The oldest child, Wednesday, has grown into an 18-year-old woman who is ready to live her own life. She has fallen in love with a respectable young man from Ohio — much to the despair of her parents. Things take a rather interesting turn when both families sit down to dinner.
Leading the Addams clan are Timothy Cornette and Leah Vorpahl as Gomez and Morticia. Jessica Wolford is taking on the role of Wednesday opposite Matt Ogan as her boyfriend. Lucas Beineke, under the disgusted eye of her younger brother, Pugsley, played by J.J. Martinez-Mora. Rounding out the rest of the main characters are Mason Stevens (Uncle Fester), Addison Borst (Grandma), Kiera Danielczak (Alice Beineke), Nick Blaser (Mal Beineke) and Karma Billodeau (Lurch the butler).
Providing backup support with storytelling and stage work are the Addams ancestors from eras past, who include Ramius Runge, Sammie Anderley, Grace Shamburek, Faith Shamburek, Abby Kuhn, Gunar Lade, Aiden Frievalt, Evelyn Savage, Olivia Strock, Katie Miller and Amanda Jahnke.
The production is led by faculty members Abbygaile Jadin, Lauren Seidl, Gayle Gander, and Dave Heisel.
Performances for “The Addams Family” will be March 14-16 at 7 p.m. at the Falls Area Performing Arts Center, 210 N. Farm Road, Oconto Falls. There will also be a matinee March 17 at 2 p.m.
Tickets are $12 for adults and $8 for children, and they will be sold at the door or can be purchased online at https://ofps.revtrak.net/pac-ticket-boxoffice/#/list.
