Nancy Kathryn Bursa, 81, of Coleman, passed away peacefully at home Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2026, after a courageous two-year battle with cancer.
Nancy was born June 24, 1944, in Park Falls,to Robert and Antoinette (Price) Toney, and was raised in Milwaukee.
She met her husband, Charlie, through a friend on the Fourth of July. They were married Feb. 20, 1965, and began their life together in Chicago, where they started their family. They later moved to Appleton before settling in Coleman. Together, Nancy and Charlie shared 60 wonderful years of marriage.
Throughout her life, Nancy worked at AAL in Appleton, Friday Canning in Coleman and Sharpe Care in Oconto Falls. Above all, she cherished being a homemaker. She especially loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Nancy found joy in simple pleasures playing games with family and friends, including Tripoly, cribbage, board games, and card games, with rummy and Stones being her favorites. She also enjoyed fishing and working on puzzles.
Nancy is survived by her children, Kathryn (David Siegmund) Bursa, of Kewaunee, James (Rochelle) Bursa, of Oconto Falls, and John (Laura) Bursa, of Green Bay; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; her brother, Roger (Gwen) Toney, of Delaware, Ohio; her sister-in-law, Agnes (Jerry) Wismer, of Broomfield, Colorado; her brothers-in-law, Robert (Rusty) Bursa, of Green Bay, and Allen (Kathy) Bursa, of Coleman; along with many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Bursa (September 2025); her parents; her in-laws, Sybila and James Bursa; her sister and brother-in-law, Bonny (Ruben) Luna, of Milwaukee.
The family extends their sincere gratitude to the dedicated teams at Green Bay Oncology, both the Green Bay and Oconto Falls locations, as well as the compassionate staff at St. Vincent Hospital and the in-home HSHS nurses.
A heartfelt thank you to her brothers-in-law and their wives who were always available to help in any way they could. Your continued support meant the world to the family.
Family will greet relatives and friends Saturday, Jan. 24, 2026, at Rhodes-Charapata Funeral Home, 235 E. Main St., Coleman. Visitation will be held from 9-11 a.m. with a memorial service to follow at the funeral home beginning at 11 a.m. Father Ben Johnson will be officiating.
