The Green Valley-Morgan Fire Company is pleased to report that its visit to Fairview Elementary School in Krakow on Oct. 8 gave more than 100 students the opportunity to visit educational stations that demonstrated firefighting equipment used by the Department of Natural Resources, provided information on smoke alarms and allowed students to check out the fire department’s trucks. Students also tried on firefighting gear and even used the fire hose.
How well do you know the town of Morgan? The population of Morgan is 989, with 787 residents being of voting age. It’s no small wonder that our poll workers are often very busy on election day!

Morgan also currently boasts over 9,000 acres of agricultural land, which is a reminder of the farming heritage of many of Morgan’s present and past residents.
Neighborly note: Morgan resident Drew Oswald and his father, Larry Oswald, of Genesee, reported that they spotted a bobcat near the south end of Degantown Road on Oct. 4.
