Loraine M. Dittman, 82, Appleton, died Friday, Oct. 2, 2015, at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Appleton. She was born May 14, 1933, in Colby to the late Eugene and Flora Thistle.
Loraine was a 1950 graduate of Stratford High School. She earned her nursing diploma from Deaconess Hospital, Milwaukee, and furthered her education to become a nurse anesthetist. She practiced her profession for many years in Illinois and Wisconsin.
Loraine married Kenneth C. Dittman on May 26, 1962, in Waukegan, Illinois. Ken and Loraine retired to Ken’s family home in Gillett. After Ken’s death in 2001, Loraine moved to Appleton.
Loraine is survived by one sister, Yvonne TeKampe, Vesper; sisters-in-law, Sylvia Dittman, Fond du Lac, and Dorothy Bonnin, Neenah; brother-in-law, Lyle Maas, Appleton; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ken, on Sept. 19, 2001; sisters, Caroline Rock, Stratford, and Jean Maas, Appleton; and brothers-in-law, Sylvester Rock, Stratford, William TeKampe, Vesper, Lowell Bonnin, Neenah, and Martin Dittman, Fond du Lac.
Committal services will be held at Christ Lutheran Church cemetery, Hintz, on Saturday, Oct. 24, 2015, at 11:30 a.m. with the Rev. Michael Paholke officiating. Lunch will follow in the church basement.
