Linda L. Kraemer, 81, of the Town of Belle Plaine, passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2024, at her home.
Linda Lee Kraemer was born Nov. 3, 1942, in Evanston, Illinois, daughter to the late Roy and Mary Jane (McMullen) Johnson. She was united in marriage to John R. Kraemer on July 20, 1963, in Park Ridge, Illinois. In 1984, the couple, along with their daughter, Deb, moved to the home on Pine Lake, which was owned by the family for many years.
They started a carpet business locally, and Linda later started work as a secretary at the Shawano Chamber of Commerce in the late 1980s.
Over the past few years, Linda discovered a deep relationship with Jesus as her personal Lord and Savior through the teaching and beautiful friendships at Zion Lutheran Church, Embarrass, and New Hope Church, Shawano. As a member of Zion Lutheran, Linda was active with the Ladies Aid, and many other groups ready to serve the church’s ministry. Linda loved the Lord with her whole heart and served him well through the years of caring for her husband, daughter and mother-in-law, Ruth Kraemer Bell.
She loved her Red Hats and the many friends around the lake and beyond. She was bubbly and talkative, and loved to be social and visit with friends, whether it was at church or entertaining guests in her home. She cherished her neighbors on Pine Lake, and if she ever encountered a stranger, she’d get to know them without fail.
She embraced Facebook and enjoyed keeping up with her friends and family who lived far away. Her love of gardening kept her busy tending to her beautiful flowers and fresh vegetables in her large garden. She also loved to bake, known for her zucchini bread, and made delicious fudge at Christmas time. One of her favorite things to do was just to sit and enjoy God’s creation at her home on the shore.
Linda is survived by her daughter, Deb L. Olson; granddaughter, Lexie J. Olson; brother, Peter Johnson; brother-in-law, David (Dottie) Kraemer.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John; and a sister, Joanne Johnson.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 7, 2024, at Zion Lutheran Church in Embarrass with the Rev. Todd Jerabek officiating. Interment will take place at 1:30 p.m. at Graceland Cemetery in Clintonville.
Visitation will be held on Thursday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
