Legion teams prep for regionals

The Shawano American Legion baseball team will open the Class AA Region 2 tournament against regional host Waupaca at 8:30 p.m. Thursday. Shawano will then play on Friday against either Berlin or New London, which play their first-round game at 6 p.m. Thursday. Games will be played Friday at 2 p.m., 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. Saturday will feature the championship game at 3 p.m., with a second game at 6 p.m. if needed. It is a double-elimination tournament. Bonduel, co-hosting the Class A Region 3 tournament, opens against Oconto at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday. Also in Bonduel on Wednesday, Menominee will play Peshtigo in an early game. Clintonville hosts the second half of the regional, opening against Weyauwega at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday. Marion/Tigerton plays Manawa at 5:30 p.m. Both Clintonville and Bonduel will host two regional games on Thursday. One game will begin at 5:30 p.m., the other at 7:30 p.m. On Friday, Clintonville will host games at 3 p.m., 5:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. Three more games will be played on Saturday — at 1 p.m., 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. If a repeat game is needed, it will be played Sunday in Clintonville. The winner of the regional tournaments will advance to the state tournament. The Class AA state tournament will be hosted by Kewaunee County. The Class A tournament will be hosted by Viroqua.
