Panthers defeat Marinette in 3
Middle hitter Shelby Coron led Oconto Falls to a straight-set victory over Marinette, 25-17, 25-19, 25-16, Oct. 6.
Coron had 12 kills and two aces to lead the Panthers (17-12, 5-2 North Eastern Conference). Senior hitter Emily Kilmer added 11 kills and three aces. She also had 10 digs. Setter Mikaela Thomson recorded 33 assists.
Stegeman, Suring top Niagara
Katie Stegeman had eight kills, two blocks and five aces to lead Suring past Niagara on Thursday, 25-4, 26-24, 25-11.
Courtney Heimerl and Greta Sleeter each tallied six assists for Suring.
Blake Seppel recorded seven digs, while Azee VanBellinger added four.
Gillett falls to Wausaukee
Myranda Pratsch recorded 11 digs and two aces, leading Gillett in both categories during Thursday’s four-set loss to Wausaukee (25-16, 21-25, 25-17, 25-13).
Faith Sorlie had eight kills. Victoria Loberger added six kills. Jessica Anderson had 10 assists, while Megan Wolfe tallied eight assists and one block. Jessica Anderson had two aces for Gillett.
Oconto Falls 5th at home invite
After taking third place in their pool, Oconto Falls defeated Peshtigo and NEW Lutheran to take fifth place out of eight teams at the Oconto Falls Invitational on Saturday.
Oconto Falls senior hitter Emily Kilmer recorded 34 kills and 46 digs on the day. Junior Shelby Coron added 27. Mikaela Thomson had 88 assists.
