Eagles move to sectionals
Katie Stegeman posted 15 kills, while Azee VanBellinger added 13 in Saturday’s 25-21, 25-20, 25-14 home victory over Bowler.
VanBellinger also tallied 27 digs, with Faith Buhrandt recording 17 digs. Setter Courtney Heimerl had 24 assists as well for the Eagles.
Suring will face Florence in Thursday’s WIAA Division 4 sectional semifinal at home.
Suring tops Gillett in WIAA playoffs
Azee VanBellinger again led Suring, this time with 26 digs in a 25-12, 25-18, 25-19 victory Thursday night.
Katie Stegeman and Hailey Thomson each recorded five kills to lead Suring.
Meanwhile, Erin Balthazor tallied 11 digs for Gillett, while Victoria Loberger had six kills.
Gillett advances to regional semifinals
In a 25-13, 26-24, 25-12 victory over Oneida Nation, the Tigers advanced to face top-seeded Suring on Thursday.
Erin Balthazor led Gillett with nine digs, while Jessica Anderson recorded 15 assists.
Victoria Loberger tallied eight kills to lead the Tigers in the victory.
Lena falls to Gresham
Sarah Manning led Lena with seven kills in a 25-7, 25-22, 25-18 defeat last Tuesday.
Hailey Salter added eight assists in the road loss.
