Shawano’s girls softball team opened the 2024 season with a 7-4 win over Thorp on March 22 at the Danny Mac Softball Classic at the Hodag Dome in Rhinelander.
The Hawks would split their two games March 23 to end up 2-1 on the weekend.
In their first game on March 23, Shawano lost 12-10 to Stratford. The Hawks bounced back in their final game, shutting out Clintonville 12-0.
The event included three days of competition featuring 24 teams split into three brackets of eight teams each.
