Hawks soccer team takes 3rd seed into regional play

The Shawano Community High School boys soccer team earned the third seed in its Division 3 WIAA regional. The Hawks (record) will travel to sixth-seeded Mosinee on Thursday. Shawano is not allowed to hold WIAA playoff soccer events at the high school because it does not have a designated soccer field, according to Activities Director Charmaine Schreiber. If Shawano is able to defeat Mosinee, the team would take on the winner of Lakeland and Amherst/Iola-Scandinavia/Rosholt on Thursday. New London, which has defeated the Hawks twice this season, earned the top seed of the regional, with Clintonville taking the fourth spot.
