Megan Brady, owner of Fresh Face Company, is all about individualized treatment — not only her client’s facial and scalp needs, but as well offers an oasis for the soul.
“I am committed to giving every single person that comes in here specialized, focused care,” Brady said.
Everything Brady does at her exclusive shop is customized to each person.
“Many of my clients literally come in with no expectation, and based on my conversation with them, I determine what their skin needs are,” Brady said. “Sometimes an acne treatment is needed with lights bright; sometimes people come in just to receive, to rest. We may talk about things from gut health to deep meditation facial experiences. I adjust to their needs, giving them undivided attention with meditation music playing. It’s all very individualized and provides a safe place for people to relax.”
Offered at Fresh Face is head spa, a distinctive service and one of very few in the state. The idea came to Brady on a trip.
“My creativity opens up when I get away and am able to relax,” she said.
During her eight days away after pondering this new service, she had ordered a bed and got construction lined up to build the room. Everything just fell into place. With the treatment table established and her business launched, she started practicing.
Brady’s unique head spa treatment is a facial for the scalp and can be a healing experience for people.
“A client gets their head rubbed for an hour,” Brady said. “I use vibroacoustic therapy, which is vibration-music healing for the body.”
Provided as well is a sensory-pleasing rain-water encounter, which is gently experienced across the client’s forehead.
“I desire to create a respite for my clients, a custom-made experience tailored just for them,” Brady said. “Whatever feels comfortable for each individual is my main focus and goal. I’ve discovered that people hold so much emotion in their faces; it’s literally the billboard to a person’s inner feelings.”
Brady offers a variety of products at her shop which include natural makeup, hair, skin, and body care. Everything on her shelves is pre-approved by her.
“If it’s not right for my skin, it’s not going out,” she said.
Brady’s mentor offered a prophetic message for her back in 2018. At that time, Brady was employed at Nueske’s as a traveling salesman. Her friend and mentor told her she was not meant to be working for someone else, that she was going to own her own business. At one point in Brady’s life, she realized getting back into wellness is what she should be doing.
Losing her traveling sales job at Nueske’s in 2020 due to COVID-19, she decided the timing was perfect, so she began doing facials, slowly dappling back into the wellness service and establishing herself as a new businessperson.
Falling in love with the Shawano community, the people and the other young entrepreneurs in town, everything felt right. Settling herself in a brick and mortar building, Brady explains her current working situation as, “I’ve got a hobby and I’m getting paid for it.”
This has been her mindset with Fresh Face from day one. The income is just a blessing, which made her realize she’s in the right spot.
Recently hiring two head spa girls to provide the head service, Brady said she exclusively provides the skin care and wellness aspect of her “sanctuary of beauty.”
“I attended esthetician school, which is a branch of beauty school,” she said. “There I completed a six-month certificate program. Branching knowledge off of that, I worked for a doctor for a time, at which point, I advanced to master esthetician.”
Brady acknowledged she is learning as she goes and continues gaining knowledge to better individually serve her clients.
Asking about her long-range plans, she feels because she is growing rapidly, she may need to hire another esthetician to handle head spas and facials, which would free her to hold more retreats.
“In 2025, I’d like to create and host more wellness events outside of the beauty amenities such as head spas and facial services,” Brady said. “I’d like to offer mind-body-soul healing, which includes strong emotional health and positive self-growth, for people to have a safe place to fall.”
Last year, Brady held a retreat in the Woodruff area, which for three days focused on resetting the mindset and nutrition — giving her clients time to be quiet, to find peace alone and also to meet in groups. They focused on yoga, meditation, cooking, singing; everything together. Her group at that time consisted of eight women. States Brady, “Small groups are intimate and more personal. I can spend extra time with each individual in this manner and find mind/body/spirit enhancement opportunities.
Asking Brady what would she want people to know about her, she responded, “I am fully present for them. As they enter, I put all my own interests and distractions aside. Every single person I am with has my 100 percent, undivided attention. I do all I can so they feel safe.” Brady elaborates, “With the negativity and gloom and doom in this world, I want people to come to a safe, quiet, peaceful place to feel pampered and to re-energize.”
