At least two people are in custody after Menominee Tribal Police officers responded to the Menominee Casino Resort on March 1 for a report of suspicious activity potentially involving illegal drugs.
According to a statement from tribal police, upon arrival, tribal officers and a Menominee County deputy located the involved parties in the casino parking lot and took them into custody.
The Menominee Tribal K-9 Unit was called in, and K-9 officer Rosco displayed a positive alert on the vehicles. The officers confiscated more than 60 pills identified as controlled substances, including gabapentin and amphetamine, as well as more than 40 different individual packages of illegal drugs, including heroin and fentanyl.
The involved parties were arrested pursuant to local and felony warrants and the additional new charges discovered during the investigation. The information is being forwarded to the Menominee Tribal Prosecutor’s Office.
