Dorothy A. (Mueller) Meyers, 102, of Shawano, passed peacefully into the arms of her Savior early Wednesday morning at Manor Care of Shawano.
Dorothy was born on Jan. 14, 1913, in the town of Angelica, a daughter of the late August and Clara (Brodhagen) Radtke. She attended country school. Following school, she worked in Green Bay and Milwaukee until moving to Shawano in 1931. On June 14, 1933, she was united in marriage to the late Harry A. Mueller at Zion Lutheran Church in Zachow. Following their marriage, the couple lived in Shawano. Dorothy loved being a good wife and mother to her children. Harry preceded her in death on Sept. 29, 1980. On Oct. 13, 1990, she was united in marriage to Math Meyers at the Community Baptist Church in Shawano. They made their home in Shawano. Math preceded her in death on Jan. 10, 1999.
Dorothy was a member of Hope Community Church, Shawano. In her later years, Dorothy was active in the Shawano and Oconto Falls AARP, the Gillett Senior Social Club, as well as the Sage and Spice Club. Dorothy was very active in the foster care program, opening her home to children, infants through teenagers, as well as providing day care. She also liked sewing, gardening, canning, cooking and baking.
Dorothy is survived by her loving children, Daroll (Nancy) Mueller, of Clintonville, and Lana (Roger) Buelow, of Shawano; six grandchildren, Kurt (Sharon) Mueller, Glenn Mueller, Valarie (Loren) Susor, Kent (Cindy) Mueller, Dorothy (Derek) Putz and Galen Dellinger; six great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; and Math Meyers’ children, Rhoda (Ed) Reinhold, of Gillett, and Paul (Diane) Meyers, of Sobieski.
She was preceded in death by a grandson in infancy, four brothers and four sisters.
Funeral services for Dorothy will be held on Saturday, Sept. 12, 2015, at 11:30 a.m. at Mickelson Funeral Service of Shawano. Pastor John Anderson will officiate. Interment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery, Shawano. Relatives and friends may call at Mickelson Funeral Service on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the hour of services.
