In the early morning hours of Oct. 2, 2013, Dodie (Dorothy Mae O’Brien) Kinziger-Chancellor, 68, went to her eternal home after a courageous fight with several illnesses.
Born Dec. 6, 1944, she was raised in Amberg, Wis. Upon her high school graduation she married Nicholas Kinziger, of Pound, Wis. They later had a daughter, Nikkie Kinziger.
Residing outside of Lena, Wis., for many years, she and Nick owned and operated Nik A Doo Farm raising, showing and racing horses and dogs.
There she also worked for and managed Schussler’s Bavarian Inn.
In 1990 Dodie moved west where she finally settled in Casper, Wyo. There she met and married her current husband, Carl (Bo) Chancellor, on March 1, 2001.
Dodie had a passion for all animals, but especially her dogs. A modern-day pied piper, she was always bringing home strays, giving them a place to feel safe.
Dodie was always looking out for others and was very kind to the elderly. She loved working outside in her garden and yard. As an avid fisher-person, she was like a child on Christmas morning whenever she caught a fish.
Surviving is her husband, Carl (Bo) Chancellor, Casper, Wyo., her daughter, Nikkie Kinziger, Oconto Falls, Wis., her sister, Betty (Dennis) Wagner, Powell, Wyo., brother, John (Alice) O’Brien, Amherst, Wis., and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. A private viewing was held on Friday, Oct. 4, 2013.
