Felony OWI
A Zachow man is facing a felony count of operating while intoxicated after a single-vehicle crash in the town of Angelica.
Joseph A. Pedery, 40, is accused of being intoxicated when he drove his vehicle into a ditch on County Road C in the early morning hours of Sept. 18.
Pedery was the sole occupant of the vehicle and was not injured, according to the criminal complaint.
Pedery could face a maximum six years in prison and a $10,000 fine if found guilty of fifth-offense OWI. He is being held on a $2,500 cash bond and is scheduled for an adjourned initial court appearance on Monday.
According to court records, Pedery has three previous OWI convictions in Shawano County and one in Waupaca County.
Burglary
A Bowler teen is due in court next month on a felony charge of burglary for allegedly breaking into the Stockbridge Bible Church to steal pizza and soda.
Andrew C. Welch, 18, could face a maximum 12½ years in prison and a $25,000 fine if found guilty. He is also charged with misdemeanor theft.
According to the criminal complaint, Welch was seen in the area of the church, N8608 Maplewood St. in the town of Bartelme, on the night of the Sept. 13 burglary.
The complaint states Welch later admitted to Stockbridge-Munsee police breaking into the church, cooking a pizza and drinking two cans of Mountain Dew.
Welch is scheduled for an initial court appearance on Oct. 19.
Delivery of marijuana
A Shawano teenager is facing three felony counts of manufacture and delivery of marijuana after allegedly selling the drug to undercover officers in a sting operation last year.
Holden M. Schmidt, 17, is accused of providing a total of 13.1 grams of marijuana over the course of the three drug buys in Shawano in November and December. The operation was conducted by Shawano police and Shawano County sheriff’s deputies.
Schmidt could face a maximum 3½ years in prison and a $10,000 fine on each count if found guilty. He is also charged with three misdemeanor counts of possession of marijuana.
Schmidt is free on a $5,000 signature bond and is due back in court for a preliminary hearing Nov. 18.
Delivery of marijuana
A Bonduel man was charged this week with three felony counts of manufacturing and delivering marijuana as a result of a sting operation in Shawano.
Brandon J. Gipp, 21, allegedly sold marijuana to a confidential informant working with police and sheriff’s deputies in November and December and again in February. The total amount sold during the three incidents was 11.5 grams, according to the criminal complaint.
Gipp could face a maximum 3½ years in prison and a $10,000 fine on each count if found guilty. He is also charged with three misdemeanor counts of possession of marijuana.
Gipp is free on a $5,000 signature bond and is due back in court for a preliminary hearing Nov. 17.
